Day 3 of the lockdown

Friday - 27 March 2020

It was 6 in the evening and I was talking to my office colleague about how this lock-down has changed the way we are working and looking at overall different aspect of life. We mutually agreed on the fact that life is getting boring as the days pass by. We cannot go outside, cannot meet friends, stuck at home and have very little interesting things to do. We also agreed on the fact that this is required so as to make sure that the coming months, we and our families (and our country) do not suffer because of the pandemic.

While on phone, I opened my house front door and started walking down the stairs. From past week it has become my routine to walk the stairs at least 2-3 times a day. And maybe when I am there on the ground floor, have a look around the compound and check what is happening outside the main gate. So, I walked towards the gate as I finished talking on phone. I was looking outside and saw a girl riding her scooter coming towards the gate. She stopped by the gate and spent few seconds looking around. I was wondering in my mind, that, how stupid of her to get outside of the house and roam around like this. She is creating a risk to her and for the society as well. As I was thinking about this, she unlocked her scooter seat and from the storage area, removed a packet of Parle-G biscuits. It didn't take time for me to realize that she must have brought these biscuits for the dogs. She unpacked the biscuits and kept them on the side walk at different places for the dogs to eat. Once done, she saw me standing at the gate. She gave me a smile, put her dupatta around her face as a mask and left.

One moment I was thinking how stupid that girl was and other moment, I was overwhelmed by her good deed.
