Day 4 of the lockdown

Saturday - 28 March 2020

10 am - Woke up
12 pm - Had brunch
Now I have the entire day with me and today I decided to read some good magazines and books. So I opened my netbook and started reading. My phone was right besides me.
**Notification ring** It is a new WhatsApp message. Now most, I mean, 90% of messages are related to Covid-19, which is expected considering the current situation.
After few minutes later
**Notification ring** I have few Facebook, tiktok and Instagram notifications. I checked all of them and cleared them.
**Notification ring** - Another notification, another message.

Now I completely lost track that I was reading. So I decided to silent my phone and kept it aside from my desk. It was actually a nice co-incidence that the first magazine I opened and I came across a very nice article related to what I observed - How these notifications and social apps are not allowing us to enjoy small things in life. The below article is from "Yoga and Total Health" magazines March 2020 edition.

(This article is written by Pooja Shah, an ERP consultant who likes to teach yoga. She is also a freelance writer of poems and short articles)

After reading this article, I decided that I am not going to check any WhatsApp message and keep my phone aside for an entire day. Only answer calls and reach out to the phone when needed.

Day 3 of the lockdown

Friday - 27 March 2020

It was 6 in the evening and I was talking to my office colleague about how this lock-down has changed the way we are working and looking at overall different aspect of life. We mutually agreed on the fact that life is getting boring as the days pass by. We cannot go outside, cannot meet friends, stuck at home and have very little interesting things to do. We also agreed on the fact that this is required so as to make sure that the coming months, we and our families (and our country) do not suffer because of the pandemic.

While on phone, I opened my house front door and started walking down the stairs. From past week it has become my routine to walk the stairs at least 2-3 times a day. And maybe when I am there on the ground floor, have a look around the compound and check what is happening outside the main gate. So, I walked towards the gate as I finished talking on phone. I was looking outside and saw a girl riding her scooter coming towards the gate. She stopped by the gate and spent few seconds looking around. I was wondering in my mind, that, how stupid of her to get outside of the house and roam around like this. She is creating a risk to her and for the society as well. As I was thinking about this, she unlocked her scooter seat and from the storage area, removed a packet of Parle-G biscuits. It didn't take time for me to realize that she must have brought these biscuits for the dogs. She unpacked the biscuits and kept them on the side walk at different places for the dogs to eat. Once done, she saw me standing at the gate. She gave me a smile, put her dupatta around her face as a mask and left.

One moment I was thinking how stupid that girl was and other moment, I was overwhelmed by her good deed.
